General Mills Property in Johnson City, Tennessee Eligible for National Register of Historic Places

"The National Trust for Historic Preservation is now expressing its disappointment with Johnson City's plan to demolish the old General Mills building along State of Franklin Road."

"The General Mills property played a vital role in the history of Johnson City and is an integral part of the city's cultural and architectural heritage," Tinker wrote in today's letter. "The historic General Mills property has been determined eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places by the Tennessee Historical Commission and, as such, its adaptive rehabilitation can qualify for a 20% federal historic tax credit."
